Barrel racing is an equestrian speed event in which a horse and rider run a cloverleaf pattern around three barrels set in a triangle. The rider is timed from start to finish; the fastest clean run wins. It is a popular event at rodeos, jackpots, and dedicated barrel racing competitions across the United States.

NBHA
National Barrel Horse Association — a major sanctioning body for barrel racing. Sanctioned events follow NBHA rules and may offer points, standings, or eligibility for finals.
IBRA
International Barrel Racing Association — another key organization for the sport. IBRA-sanctioned events follow their program and may include points toward association standings.
